Twin Vector Labs

Alternative Data | Finance | Infrastructure

Twin Vector Labs is defined by a unique cross-disciplinary team: Adam brings deep practical and academic experience to data sourcing, analytics, causal inference, and modeling; Andrew builds the engineering infrastructure, designing the high-performance, distributed systems required to efficiently execute these complex models at scale. Jacob oversees the firm's operational health and physiology, ensuring organizational resilience and scalability.

Adam S. Kelleher, PhD

Chief Executive Officer, Head of Data

Adam graduated from UNC: Chapel Hill with a PhD in Physics (cosmology). He began his professional career at BuzzFeed, where he partnered with his brother, Andrew (now CTO of Twin Vector Labs), to develop the "Pound" project—a viral data-mapping initiative that earned them a spot on Fast Company’s "Most Creative People" list. Adam continued developing expertise in recommendation systems and causal inference, and authored the Causal Data Science blog in 2016, exceeding 6-figure view counts on technical articles. This interest led him to join Columbia University’s Data Science Institute where he has developed and taught a course in Applied Causal Inference since 2017, and where he remains an Adjunct Associate Professor. In 2018, he joined Barclays Investment Bank as the Chief Data Scientist for Research, where he built, led, and supervised (S24) a team of front-office data scientists incorporating alternative data into the investment research process. This included writing research reports, building out large and small data sets (e.g. geolocation, credit card transactions, job postings, etc.) and capabilities (e.g. place attachment, revenue nowcasting, etc.). He left Barclays in 2025, and has been focused on building core capabilities for Twin Vector Labs since then.

Andrew K. Kelleher

Chief Technology Officer

Andrew holds a B.S. in Physics with a minor in Mathematics from Clemson University and brings a systems-theoretic approach to engineering design, emphasizing reliability, observability, and measurable performance gains. As Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer of Twin Vector Labs, he leads engineering strategy, platform architecture, and systems optimization for data-intensive organizations. Prior to Twin Vector Labs, he served as Data Architect and Staff Engineer at Venmo, where he worked across multiple engineering teams to improve core platform performance. Considered “Key Talent”, his work increased payment throughput by 400% and reduced social search latency by 97%. Earlier, as Engineering Manager and Staff Engineer at BuzzFeed, he led teams responsible for optimizing advertising and editorial performance systems, collaborated with research groups at major technology companies on large-scale social platform studies, and received industry recognition including Fast Company’s “Most Creative” distinction. he has founded and led multiple technical organizations. At Canold, he built API platforms supporting metered usage and large-scale extract-transform-load pipelines, deploying and managing production infrastructure including Kubernetes clusters, message streaming systems, relational databases, and distributed caches across both cloud and bare-metal environments. Earlier, as President and CTO of ScaleRabbit, he delivered optimization engines and infrastructure systems for major streaming platforms and enterprise clients. He is co-author of Machine Learning in Production and has built research-grade simulation software exploring numerical approaches to quantum gravity.
